Description

The documentary by Elisabetta Valgiusti was made in Iraq's Christian communities following three years of research, studies and meetings in those areas where the earliest Christian settlements in Mesopotamia are to be found.

 

"Journey amongst Iraq's Christians" presents a wide-ranging view of Iraq's Christian heritage and contains numerous interviews on the current, complex condition of this community which, although amongst the original inhabitants of this land, represent an extremely high proportion of Iraqi's refugees, both at home and abroad.

 

In the year 2000, the Iraqi Christians numbered roughly 1 million, but by 2007 less than 500,000 remained in the country.
