From October 23^rd to November 3^rd, Smile Train Italia Onlus carried out its Second Humanitarian Mission, funded by the Iraq Task Force at Camp Mittica, Nassyriah, in cooperation with USR and the Health Ministry of Dhi Qar.

The First Humanitarian Mission funded by Task Force Iraq at Camp Mittica, Nassyriah, in cooperation with USR and the Health Minister of Dhi Qar, took place from 2^nd to 14^th April.

This pilot project aims at contributing to the improvement of health conditions for Iraqi children.

The Mobile Surgical Unit has all of the equipment and systems necessary for performing surgery with a high standard of both safety and efficiency.

700 families (2800 people) who migrated to Basra territory from the cities of Beijy, Al-Anbbar, Al-Ramady and Abu-Ghareb were directly involved in this project.

A single project in two stages: the medical stage, which included planning of surgical operations for children suffering from the consequences of burns and cleft labio-palate conditions, and a training stage for Iraqi doctors specialising in maxillofacial plastic surgery and anaesthesists.
